Dahlia Workshop

Hooked on the magical plants known as dahlias? A bit bewildered about how to grow and care for them and where to start? Come and learn all about them in our dahlia workshop where you will get to grips with everything dahlia related from growing conditions, starting off tubers, growing from seed, feeding, pests and diseases and everything inbetween. Ive been growing dahlias for the last 8 years and am excited to share my knowledge with you.

Who is the workshop aimed at?
Absolute beginners to keen growers who want to expand their knowledge and learn more about growing dahlias, you dont need any prior experience just an interest and a keeness to learn.

What to bring 
Layers and a jacket, we will be outside the whole time
Dahlia tubers or clumps (either shop bought or from your garden) to split here
Snips if splitting tubers
A pair of gardening gloves 
Any dahlia seeds you'd like to sow on the day (see my shop for a range of seeds)
An open mind, willingness to learn and a sense of humour :)
You will receive a handout so just bring a pen to make notes if needed.

What you will take away
A broad knowledge of these amazing plants and lots of enthusiasm for the growing season ahead. You will gain confidence in growing from seed, tuber or cuttings and will develop your skills to take forward on your growing journey.

A selection of dahlia seeds which we will sow on the day for you to take home and grow in your garden or in a pot.
A sense of achievement having learnt lots of information about your favourite plants and confidence to grow your socks off this season
A lovely morning with like minded gardeners chatting, swopping tips and having a laugh together 
We will also have a walk around my picking garden and chat about how I grow mine and you can ask lots of questions and learn from others too.

Location: In our picking garden in Paraparaumu Beach (Location details will be emailed to you) *Select pick up at the check out

Start time: 10am
Ts & Cs: Whilst we cannot refund you for a cancellation we are happy to credit you to attend another workshop in the future. Workshop will go ahead in not-so-perfect weather however, if we need to cancel due to adverse weather conditions we will contact you to discuss alternative dates or offer a refund.
